Even though Hunter Square was known for their art scene, they also attracted some people with really amazing fashion sense. He tried his hardest not to talk to all of them... not to ask them where they got this or how much was that. Perhaps he would do that later, but for now, he had to focus on the task at hand.
With a sigh, Ash plopped himself down on an empty picnic table and began to take out his lunch from his hand bag. His plan was to spend yet another day at Hunter Square. He had heard that one of the local bands, The New Gorilla Fighters, were really good, so he had cleared his plans for this one day. With experience, there probably was going to be a concert, an after party and than an after-after party, which he never went to. Ash didn't think it was too healthy to stay up until 5:00am drinking and then wake up just before sunset for your next gig. Sadly, that was the life of a lot musicians here. Oh well. That's rock 'n roll, baby.
He pulled out a neatly cut peanut butter and jelly sandwich, his water bottle and a bag of chips. Ash was incredibly picky eater and the merchants here just didn't seem to understand his taste in food. Ever since he arrived, he had been forced to pack his own meals if he wanted to eat in Hunter Square. There were only a few kiosks that offered things he liked, and that was the gelato and the pancake one but those didn't provide full, balanced meals like Ash wanted.
There was a buzzing and a vibration in his leg, and he struggled mid-bite to get his cellphone out of his pocket. It seemed freaking trapped in his tight pocket! After a heroic battle with his pants, he managed to read an incoming text message ... from none other than Thomas. Oh jeez. That kid was so desperate. But Ash was so over him. He laughed out loud at the thought of talking about his ex-boyfriend. He loved to play all feminine and girly to cause a stirrup in people. Most of the time it was good, but other times, it brought out the enemies.
With a little roll of the eye, Ash put the phone back in his pocket with no intention of replying and continued to eat his delicious sandwich. 427words, open tag

YOUR BANNER HERE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round. The wheels on the bus go round and round all day long! The famed nursery rhyme echoed in her head over and over again as Sabrina sauntered down the sidewalk. Suddenly, Marie's words popped into her head "walk every walk like a cat walk". She giggled at that memory. Marie was this really pretty blonde model turned singer she'd met at a party. Just one of the many new people that had moved into town since she left for college. Oh well she was going to have a blast making new friends!
Not that all the new people were extremely friendly. Well that was just the way it was with rockstars, the cool indifferent attitude was just their way of expression. Sabby preferred to express herself with colors and laughter. To each his own right? Anyway back to the matter at hand, the sideway catwalk. Sabby smiled to herself as she began strutting her stuff. She knew she looked pretty goofy but it was fun! Walk walk walk she thought to herself, biting her lip in frustration. "Darn Marie made it look so easy!" she mused out loud.
Then she stopped in her tracks, she had reached hunter square. "Yay!" She cried doing a half skip jump thing. The familiar sight greeted her like an old friend. She grew up going to official and unofficial concerts thrown by all kinds of bands. The ones with the really loud electric bass were the best. She loved jumping, singing and laughing under the stars whenever there were night events at Hunter Square. Uh huh SJ definitely missed her home town, it was the best place ever with the most awesome in an insane way people.
Snapping out of her nostalgic internal rant, she perked up immediately as the smell of hot dogs wafted in the air. Carlo's hot dog stand was open! She made a beeline for the stand, "Hi Carlo! One hotdog please" she said, jumping up and down. Her enthusiasm over this earned her quite a few death glares from people still trying to sober up. It wasn't her fault they couldn't enjoy the beautiful fall sunshine. Today's weather was perfect, it was windy but not chilly.
Upon receiving her hot dog, she thanked Carlo and made her way to the picnic tables. Oh no! There were barely five people there and four of them looked hungover. Disappointed, she looked at the fifth person present.
The blonde did look familiar, she had seen him before. Sabrina tilted her head to the side, trying to recall where she had seen the gorgeous sweater he was wearing. Wait only one boy in town I know who dresses that well! "ASHBEAR!"She cried from a few tables away before practically tearing towards him. If there was anything Sabs loved more than a friend, it was a good friend."Hi AshAsh! Mind if I sit down?" She asked eagerly, unconsciously already placing the hot dog and her purse down.

Seriously, did people have any shame at all? His eyes rolled a bit. Sure, drinking made you look cool and feel good, but the hangovers were just not worth it. Uh-uh, not for Ash. He rarely drank, which made him the designated driver every time he and his friends go out. It's not like he didn't mind, just sometimes hates dealing with drunk and hung over people.
But his resentment was interrupted and replaced with relief. From beyond him, he heard a greeting and then a fiery head of hair rush toward him. Ah, it was Sabrina! "SabbySab! Yes, yes, sit! Puh-leese!" He let out a loud exaggerated sigh. His lunch was saved with Sabrina around. Ash wouldn't have to deal with hung-over people any more! Woo-hoo! And it wouldn't be nearly as boring. "Thank God you're here. I was just about to leave..." Ash eye-balled a hung over person with a some-what repulsed face. "Lunch didn't exactly bring in the best crowd." he commented and took another bite of his sandwich.
Ash spotted her hotdog. It did look appealing, but not quite enough for Ash to buy one himself. Ah! What the heck was that?! Oh, his phone just went off again. It had jolted his poor thigh. Once again, he struggled the damn thing out of his pocket. Either he had to get a smaller phone, or looser pants... the phone must go, then! Checking it once more, it was just the same idiotic guy trying to get a hold of him. Ash ignored the call and placed the phone face down on the table, in case it rang again. "Thomas has been blowing up my phone lately, it's kind-of ... REALLY annoying."
Thomas, Ash's ex-beau, has been begging him to come home to New York lately. He wasn't sure why all the new interest in him. Thomas was the one that broke off the relationship. Ash had taken the break up badly, spending days eating ice cream and watching really bad romance movies. Bah, Ash had spent so much time trying to get over Thomas and now here he was, blowing up his phone? It drove Ash up the wall!
"Anyway, what brings you? I know HS is pretty awesome, but there aren't any gigs 'till later." Ash finished his bite of his sandwich and took a large swig from his water bottle. 406words, SABRINA!

Enthusiasm. That’s not something you get so early at hunter square. Especially not from the people at the picnic tables who were nursing a hangover with a lone cup of coffee. She grinned at his disdain for the drunkards. She loved Ash to bits especially the way he carries himself. It was different from the other boys here in town, a good different no less. She looked at the person Ash was eyeballing and chuckled. “Heehee it’s funny actually the way they try to appear sober” she mused but quickly looked down as the drunkard looked over at them. Uh oh what if they get nasty? Sabs shut her eyes in horror at the thought but opened them quickly enough to see Ash wrestling with his pants.
She giggled again at his expression before taking another bite out of her food. She’d figured she would let Ash take the call in peace. However, he rejected the call. Sabby raised an eyebrow in curiosity, Ash never missed a call let alone reject one. She looked up at her blonde friend with worried smile, only to watch him place the phone down on the table. She made a face in support of Ash’s resentment for Thomas. You go boy! Anyone who treats Ash badly does not deserve him she thought cheerfully. Finishing up the rest of her food, she turned to him, “You know one good thing about your break up is that it brought you here!” she said happily, hoping it would make Ash feel better. But then, a thought occurred to her. Pointing at the phone, “You have forgotten about that scummy boy like last years fashion trends right Ash?” she asked innocently, hoping the fashion reference would make him smile. “It’s not worth forgoing a forest for a tree and there are so many forests in the world”. Okay she added the ‘forest in the world’ part in herself but it was pretty genius. Point Sabby!
She began musing on the things they could do to get over Thomas. Oh wait, opps for Ash to get over Thomas. There were plenty more fish in the sea. With that her mind began whirring with metaphors and rhymey words that would make Ash feel better. Rhymey words and coca always made her feel better.
“Well I saw the hot dogs and couldn’t resist! Actually I’m in HS because of hair dyes, cupcakes and budgets.” She chuckled at the funny combination of oddities but they will make sense once she explained them. “So do you want the long version or the short version. I recommend the short one, then you can tell me more about your scummy ex” she concluded blissfully content with her lunch and how her afternoon was turning out.

It was true... why bother trying to hide the fact you're hungover? Of the few times he was ever hung over, he had been a BIG diva about it. AND I MEAN BIG. LIKE FROM TEXAS TO ALASKA BIG. He wore designer sunglasses all throughout the morning for as long as the sun was up and yelled at everyone that made a noise louder than the sound of a whisper. He just hated the head-splitting pain and the feeling of fuzzy teeth... booze what just not worth it to him. Ash shrugged a little. Whatever, there isn't much you can do.
"HAHA, YES!" Ash said loudly and flipped his head back in an exaggerated laugh. "I'm SO over him like last year's fashion trends. God you're a keeper." A huge smile appeared on his face and he put up his hand for a high-five. "Good one, sissy. That one made my day." He loved how Sabrina knew him so well. FASHION. Ah, that was so him! It made him feel all warm and bubbly inside. His head bobbed in agreement to SabbySab's comment. It was so cliché and cheesy that it was cute!
When Sabrina asked for the short or long version, but recommended the short so they could talk about his scummy ex, Ash's jaw dropped. "Ugh, my ex is not a scum! Haha!" He played dramatic and let out a choppy, one of a kind laugh, original to Ash. "He's super hot!" Ash fanned the air around his face once with his left hand, as to act girly. Most people liked it when he did, but usually it did attract the wrong crowd. "I'll show you a picture of him sometime. I deleted all the photos of him on my phone." he said, crossing his arms, grabbing his phone and browsing through the gallery. Half occupied, he continued "But yes, do tell me the medium sized version." Ash laughed and looked up at Sabrina momentarily and made a joking face. 345words, SABRINA!

Grinning widely at Ash’s response, she nodded her head vigorously. Agreed! The best part of a break up was getting over the break up. Well apart from all that ice cream and chocolate you are allowed to eat of course. She was glad Ash was over him, he deserved someone much much better. Maybe Sabby would find someone for him. Heehee yes she could try. There were so many guys in Hunter Square, surely one of them would have the luck. Oh and the fashion palate to go with. Clapping her hands excitedly, “Yay! I like being a keeper!” she announced happily, bouncing up and down on the bench. Returning his high-five enthusiastically, “Haha it wasn’t hard. You, my darling live and breathe fashion. It gives HS much more style” she told him cheerily, crushing up the napkin.
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, wasn’t all exes scummy? She did not get relationships at all. She was just a little kid when it came to affairs of the heart. She shrugged, maybe she just didn’t get love at all. Her harrowing relationship reflection was pierced by his unique laugh. She giggled, the frown disappearing instantly. “Super hot?” she replied, “hotter than you?” she asked, wondering if that was even possible. Her friend was good looking, very good looking. In fact, a few of her friends had even asked her to hook them up. Sorry ladies, he’s one of us. She laughed at that memory, “Yes!!! You have too!!! Does he have twitter? I’ll stalk him there” she nudged him playfully, curiousity getting the better of her.
“Weellll…” she began, “I wanted to go get my hair done but I figured it would be cheaper to get hair dye and do it myself. On my way to the drugstore, I saw velvet cupcakes. It made me crave them so badly so I am actually on my way to bake some. But then I saw the hot dogs and then I saw you!!” She finished her story quickly, wrapping her arms Ash on the word you. Squeezing him quickly, she moved off him, satisfied with her story. “So my turn! What are you doing here?” she asked.

FINALLY SOMEONE NOTICED. Ash said to himself. He flipped his imaginary long hair and added, "Well thanks, hun. I do try my best." His legs crossed and his shoulders twisted as he said it. Giggles escaped him, he loved acting so queen! It was so natural to him, he sometimes wondered why he didn't act queen all the time... oh yes, because he wasn't about to become flamboyant! D:<
At SabbySab's question of if Thomas was hotter than him, he couldn't help but slam his fists into the table... lightly though. "No way, Jose! I'm so much hotter than him... HELLO!" Ash gestured to his whole body as if it was obvious that he was MUCH MUCH MUCH HOTTER. Well Ash did love himself, and he didn't love Thomas... so that made him at least ten times more attractive. Ash let out a little sigh, "Nah, he thinks he's way cooler than twitter... at least I think. Either that or he's way too lazy to make one." With all this talking, he nearly forgot about his sandwich! He took another bite of his sandwich and munched on it as he listened to Sabrina.
After quickly listening to her, he swallowed hard and tried to contribute a little more to their conversation, "Red velvet!? Hun, we have to go to your house and bake them together--you know how much I love baking... OH! And I can dye your hair for you." His hand slapped the table a few times, "Oh my God, I'm so excited for all our plans! Oh, didn't you hear? The New Gorilla Fighters are due for an appearance, and one of their band members is super hot. I couldn't resist. I HAD to go see them." he giggled and put his hand lightly on hers. "Even though I don't have that many guy friends, I'm going to try my best to find you a nice man... a man that can hold a job. haha." Ash laughed and continued to finish off his sandwich. 340words, SABRINA!
