Ray laughed as he pushed away from the last of the crowd cheering out at him. He had been the last to leave the stage, helping clean up, and had somehow managed to be caught up by a few fans. It wasn’t Hollywood, but hell, it was good enough for the small town local boy. He’d be heading home soon, not up for partying tonight as he usually would be. His band mates had gotten sick a few days ago and while they had recovered, he was still trying to get over the few symptoms still lingering in his system. It hadn’t been bad enough to blow the night. Yesterday he’d had to skip a gig because he’d been nursing himself, and he’d kicked himself in the butt for that one.
His stomach still had a shallow aching feeling, and he hadn’t been jumping up and down on stage as much as he usually did. He wasn’t energetic, not as much as he usually was, but he was certainly better off then he had been. His head was pounding, though that was probably from the audience. And he felt slightly hot, in more ways then one, but he was actually feeling pretty damn good in comparison to the last couple of days.
Ray made his way to the lunge and sat down on the couch, lying on his back and taking out his guitar. He strummed it absently, humming to himself. He was probably the only one back here, an oddity in itself. But most went out to party after a good show. He usually wasn’t the acception, but hey, first time for everything, right?
He closed his eyes for a moment, still strumming the guitar and smiling to himself. Hell, this was the life. --------------------------------------------------- Words-307 Tag-Cody ---------------------------------------------------

Now don't go thinking that this is how Cody normally is because it's not. On a regular basis he was a rather cheery and chill guy to hang and have fun with, but today had been a bad day. First off, though it really isn't THAT big of a deal, he didn't have any shows today. This didn't necessarily put him down or anything, but it always tended to cheer him up a bit no matter how bad his day had been. Second, all of his friend had gone out to party and do whatever without him. This also leads to the third reason: his friend had banned him from being able to go out parties with them for the next week. This was mainly because how bad he had been the last time and how they had some performances throughout the next week and he needed to be his best. I mean, he could go out by himself, but what's the point with now friends. Just freakin' great. He thought with a small sigh. And they just had to go out tonight to teach me a lesson.
With nothing better to do, Cody made his way over to the backstage area, and even though a show had finished not long ago, he was hoping no one else was in the back lounge room so he could just hang for a bit. Or maybe he was really looking for someone to socialize with, who knows? He knew that the back lounge area was really for artist just finishing their show or about to go on, but no one here was really the strict about the rules and really let in the performing artist about anytime with just about any guests if they wished to do so.
The boy opened the door to the room, slightly surprised to hear the soft sounf of a guitar being strummed within the room. So someone is in here . . . He thought with slight wonder on who it maybe. Not wanting to stay there hesitating any long than he already was, Cody went ahead and stepped into the room, trying to polite excuse himself to whoever was already in there. "I don't really mean to interrupt, but -" He started to say before realizing who was in the room. "Oh hey Ray, what's up man?" Cody started, walking over to the other boy at an easy pace. "Didn't realize you just had a show, or did you just come in here to hang out as well?" I hope you like me as I am |

Ray had the easy grace of a young man who had long since become easy with his body. Perhaps this was why his stage presence was so calm and easy going. Hell, maybe that was one of his simple tricks to getting the ladies and men to go with him. It had it’s advantages, and one of the many advantages was that he was rarely bothered by bigger guys. Bigger, meaner guys who would like nothing more then to punch him in the face. Sure, he had a few enemies. Quite a few. But the ones who messed with him had to be damn ballsy, and he often took up the opportunity to challenge other males if they weren’t to cute.
Sadly, tonight would not be a night of challenges, though he thought so at first as the door creaked open. He’d perked up slightly, stopped strumming his guitar and looked at the door for a moment before going back to his delicate little Lily, and strumming her some more. Slick, no need for anyone to think you’re eager. That’ll lose you in the end anyway you do it. Of course, Ray wasn’t expecting anyone he knew or befriended to be behind the door. He hadn’t seen much of anyone tonight.
However, when the door pushed open Ray had to keep in a laugh that was building rather rapidly inside of himself. Ah, Cody. Certainly one of his better mates, and not exactly someone he would challenge in any aspect any time soon. He considered Cody to be one of his closer friends, and smiled to himself as Cody looked up and eased himself. Hell, he owed Cody his life. He wouldn’t laugh at the guy. He tried to keep his body calm as he slid over to offer him the other side of the couch should he want it. Arm still slung over his beautiful guitar, he hunched slightly near a pillow to become comfortable again, instead of upright and agitated looking.
Ray raised a brow and then raised a hand in greeting. “Just chilling. I didn’t figure going out would be to much fun with the guys tonight. Rather have some alone time with Lily here,” he said, stroking his guitar. He thought about making a joke about rather having him around, but decided against it. Cody had looked rather sheepish coming in, a trait he didn’t often associate with him. “Show tonight. Need the gigs,” he said, shrugging. “And what, must I ask, are you doing here on this lovely October night?” he used his calm voice before laughing lightly. ------------------------------------------- Words-460 Tag-Cody ------------------------------------------

cody smiled and even laughed a little as grin appeared on rays face as he himself let out a laugh of his own. cody new how good ray considered him as a friend and how he himself considered ray as a good friend as well. i guess that has to pretty much be because i saved him from his bout of depression. the boy thought, happy he did for if not he would have never gained such a good friend, even though ray had to go through a bad time for him to do so. either way, he made his way over to the couch, sitting down once ray had scooted over for him to do so.
he plopped down in the couch, sinking in easily and laying back in a sort of slouch. may ruin my posture, but what the hell. cody thought with a small laugh to himself before turning to ray. "ha, that's a bit surprise." cody said, a laugh on the edge of his voice. "and i didn't know you had named your guitar." he may have been making fun of him a bit and joking, but it wasn't like most musician named their guitars any way, or at least cody had, but what's the difference.
getting away from joking, cody went ahead to change the subject. "a gig tonight?" he said, but of disappointment in his voice. "you should have told me, i would have come you know." the boy rolled his eyes in exaggeration a bit. "i guess you can say i'm bored and grounded." he spoke in a somewhat sarcastic tone, a small laugh at the end of his voice before coming back to a more explaining tone. "but really, my friend banned me from going out with them for the next week because a couple of gigs we got coming up." he paused for a moment, not sure how to word the next part. "'cause you know . . . of what happened last time . . ." he went silent for a moment, he wasn't regretting of his previous action 'cause it back to regret thing fore it will get you nowhere. it's just that he was a bit disappointed. "i guess it's a good thing though.

Ray laughed at ruffled the boys hair playfully. “Major surprise. Never ditch the chance to go out with the guys and show off the rockstar I am,” he said. Sadly, this was far to true. The life of a rock star meant exactly what he did. Course, he never did drugs. One of the few things he had promised himself he’d never do, if only for his big bro. However, a late night out with a pretty girl or hunky guy. Part of the rock star life he’d never get rid of. It was easy enough, it was chill enough, and so long as he didn’t get sick or get anyone pregnant, he was in pretty good shape. No worries.
Ray pretended to take offense and held the guitar tightly. “Pff, of course! Why on earth wouldn’t I name this pretty lady. Apple of my eyes, she is,” he said, fake hurt in his voice. Lily was, ironically, the name of his first crush. However, he couldn’t help naming his beauty Lily. It fit her to perfectly. Truth be told, Lily was probably the first and last girl he didn’t fool with.
Ray felt a little bad at Cody’s comment, but shrugged. ”You spend so much time out here I figured you’d be here anyways. Anyways, wasn’t our best performance. I messed up halfway through, didn’t have much energy. Stupid flu bug,” he said. His band mates hadn’t mentioned anything, so they had probably been up to par in comparison to him. He’d make up for it next gig. If he had a next gig. Ray was having a heck of a time finding places to perform at this late in the year. Hunter square would be closing down soon enough. He felt slightly sad at the idea, but he supposed he could attempt to find other gigs. Or practice.
Bored and grounded? Ray had to hold back a smirk. He felt sorry for his friend but patted him on the back. “To be truthful, partying isn’t always the best thing,” he said, although some nights he felt different. “Anyways, now you can spend some time with me! “ he said in a falsetto voice, then cleared his throat. He wasn’t very good at that. “Where you performing next week? I’ll be a screaming fan for you guys. Fanboy status, eh?” he said, grinning. Get a couple drinks in him and that might well be his frame of mind. ---------------- Words-420 Tag-Cody Lyrics by Foo Fighters.
